Add a Court Setting to a Matter
Follow these steps to choose a court setting for your matters.
1.
Go to Matters
Select "Matters" in the left menu bar.
2.
Select a Matter
Click on on a matter in the table to open the matter view screen.
3.
Retain Matter
If the matter is not already retained, click on the checkbox next to "Retained" to retain it.
You will be asked to confirm whether to change the status to "Retained".
4.
Open Court Setting
Click on "ADD" next to "Court Settings" to open the Court Settings Dialogue.
5.
Enter Court Date
You can type in a date manually, or choose one using the drop down calendar.
6.
Enter Court Time
You can type the time in manually, or select it using the drop down.
7.
Select a Court
Click on the "Court" drop-down to see a selection of courts for the venue assigned to the matter.
(If you don't see the proper court, you probably need to change the Venue setting in the Matter View page.)
8.
Choose an Attendance Requirement
Click on "Attendance" to select whether the client must appear, is excused, or must attend appear virtually.
9.
Assign Status
Click on the "Status" drop down to select "Open" or "Closed".
10.
Setting Type
Type in the "Setting Type" here.
11.
Notes
Type in any notes about the setting here.
12.
Done!
Click on "Save" to keep your changes or "Cancel" to cancel them. Either choice will return you to the matter view page.
