Create Custom Fields for Clients
System Administrator Only
These steps should be performed by a System Administrator on your firm's account and should be applied when first setting up the account for better performance.
1. Click on the Settings Wheel

2. Click on Custom Fields

3. Select Client
Under the Custom Fields menu, select Client to manage Client custom fields.

4. Client Custom Fields
You are now in the Client custom fields section.

5. Custom Fields List
- Single Line
- Mutli Line
- Email Field
- Phone Number
- Date Format Field
- Date and Time Format Field
- Number Field
- Currency Field
- Checkbox
- Pick List Field
- Multi Selection Field

6. Select Any New Field
Here you can select the new field you want to add to the client data. In this instance we are going to create a "Single Line" field.

7. Enter Field Label
In the popup, enter the field label. This is the name you want to call your new custom field.

8. Token Value
This is an automated system generated value based on the label you entered. This cannot be modified.
This is the name of the "Token" for this field to be used in the Templates.

9. Enter Number of Characters Allowed
Enter the number of characters allowed for this field. Use between 1 and 250.
ex: If we use the field "Hobby", most answers will probably not be any longer than 25 characters (Fishing, Aviation, Football, Hiking, etc...). So we can use the number 25.

10. Required?
If the field is a required one, check the required box.

11. Click Save
Click "Save" to save the new field.

12. Required Fields
Required fields are shown on the list with a red vertical bar on the left on the label.

13. Repeat as Needed
You can now repeat the above steps to add all the necessary client custom fields you need.
