Add a Client
1. Click on Add Client
Click on the "Add Client" button in the top toolbar.

Alternatively, use the "+" sign icon.

Hover over the "+" icon in the lower right of the screen, then choose "Add client".
2. Enter client's first and last name, and date of birth
Type in the First and Last Name, along with the client's Date of Birth. MLC will cross-check the database for any clients who already match this data.

3. Potential duplicate.
If MLC finds an existing client whose details match what you've entered, it will alert you. Perhaps this client has already been recorded.

4. Click on Proceed
This will create the client record and take you to the next step.

5. Enter personal information.
Here you can enter full details for the new client. Fields marked with an asterisk are required.

6. Be sure to add an email address and/or phone number for contacting the client.
At least one email address is required for the client to be marked as Active in the record.

7. Save & Next
Click the Save & Next icon in the top toolbar.

8. Attorney and Legal Assistant
Select the attorney and legal assistant, if any.

9. Click Save & Next

10. Input lead information
This can include Referral Source, Signed up by, Signed up Date, and preferred Contact Method(s).

11. Custom Fields
If your firm's MLC adminstrator has created any custom fields, they will be displayed here. Fill in any as required, then click on Save & Next.

12. Click on Save & Next

13. Emergency Contacts
This screen allows you to enter any emergency contacts for the client, along with their name, email, phone, and relation to the client.

14. Click on Save & Close to finalize.

15. Activating the client portal
If you mark the client "Active", MLC will ask for your confirmation before activating the client portal and sending the client an email notification.
You can wait until later to activate the client.

16. Done!
Your new client data is now entered. The client will be listed as "Prospect" until a matter is created for the this record. You can now edit this record as needed.
